HUGE NEWS!

So I bet a lot of you have seen our new blog layout. Our aim was to try something fresh and cool. We would love your feedback under comments.
Anyway to the top right there is a bar that currently is on zero and it goes to one thousand. What's up with this you ask? I'll tell you.

But it starts with an idea..

So as you guys and girls know, Wild Horse came to my place for the holidays and as we were riding , I mentioned that I had talked to my mum and we had come to a agreement that if I did well with school this year, when exams were over I could get a younger horse.

Not to replace Spec's of course. (That would never happen in a trillion years!). No, it was so Specs would have company and I would have a younger horse to ride and train. When I say "young" I don't mean like Chancy age, I'm talking anywhere in between 4-8? Well it really depends on the horse, because I could get a 3 year old that was mature, when there was a 7 year old that is loco

But then Wild Horse said that it would be cool if we could share a horse (not a demand or anything, just an idea). So from that moment forward we have put action to our words. We have discussed the idea to see if it is possible, and we then wrote down how it was going to work.

The one thing that was in the way was our parents. We had to convince our parents. I talked to my mum and instantly she agreed as long as I was keeping up in school. Then we just needed to convince Wild Horse's parents. We wrote up a proposal (11 page document anyone?) and Wild Horse gave it to them, long story short, we have a pretty decent shot.

So back to the bar with the zero to the thousand. I am guessing you now know what that is?
It is Wild Horses and my goal to save for a horse this year, so once exams are over we can go and buy our dream horse. We both are going to work around school so that we have the available funds.

$500 dollars each. I don't know if we are actually buying a horse for $1000 but we need back up money for the care and everything. Alongside transport.

So now you know our plan. It is going to be hard work but worth it in the long run.

How will it work?
The horse will be grazed at my (HorseFrenzy) place with Specs. We will keep the paddock managed so it grows best.

Each of us will pay half of everything; tack, vet (if needed), farrier and any extra things. WildHorse will visit every second weekend (we hope).

What type of horse are we looking at?
I think we both agreed we want a nice sturdy build horse. Like maybe a gisborne bred or stationbred.
It must be barefoot (no shoes). A good all-rounder horse that we can do everything with. And not too old. As far as colors and markings go, I'm not too fazed because its the personality that matters. But I would love if we could get a horse with a big blaze (I love big blazes) or ever a paint pattern. Or grey even!

Note by WildHorse: While we are not certain my parents will agree (they have been frustratingly quiet, apart from saying they are not 'closed' to the idea), we have decided to start saving anyway, to show that we are serious.
Anyway, we are both very excited by the prospect! We know that this is something that cannot be rushed, and each detail needs to be carefully hammered out.
